These terms govern your use of ContentChat (“the service”), an AI-assisted editor for existing websites, available at contentchat.app. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.
1. The service
ContentChat connects to a website you control (via GitHub, FTP, or WordPress), lets you describe changes in plain language, shows you a preview of each proposed change, and applies it to your site only after you confirm. ContentChat edits the visible content and interface of your site; it does not run, host, or deploy your site.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.
3. Your site, your responsibility
- You may only connect websites and repositories you own or are authorized to modify.
- Every change the AI proposes is shown to you before it is applied, and nothing is written to your site without your confirmation. You are responsible for reviewing changes before confirming them. Version history and undo are provided as a convenience, not a guarantee — keep your own backups and version control.
- Deployment of applied changes is handled by your own hosting or CI pipeline; we are not responsible for your host's build or deploy behavior.
4. AI-generated content
The service uses large language models (from Anthropic and OpenAI) to interpret your instructions and propose edits. AI output can be wrong. We do not warrant that any proposed change is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose. You own the content of your site, including edits you confirm.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- connect a site or repository you are not authorized to modify;
- use the service to create or distribute unlawful, infringing, or malicious content;
- attempt to probe, disrupt, or overload the service, or to circumvent usage limits or plan gates;
- resell or provide the service to third parties as your own without our agreement.
6. Plans, billing, and cancellation
- Paid subscriptions are billed by Stripe on a recurring basis. Prices and plan limits are shown at checkout and on the pricing page. Usage limits (e.g. messages, uploads) apply per plan.
- You can cancel anytime via the billing portal; your plan remains active until the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- If you use your own AI provider API key (“BYOK”), you are responsible for that key, its costs, and compliance with the provider's terms.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions keep their rate until renewal after the notice period.
7. Your data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service: to read your connected site's content, to send relevant parts of it to our AI providers to generate the edits you request, and to write the changes you confirm back to your site.
8. Intellectual property
We own the service, its software, and its branding. You own your site and its content. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the service without obligation to you.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including under the Australian Consumer Law, where it applies).
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create risk for the service or other users, with notice where practicable.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, unless the consumer-protection law of your place of residence provides otherwise.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date and, for significant changes, by email. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
